Winter break at Erlebnisberg Kappe ? - Not quite!

Since the beginning of November, most of the attractions at Erlebnisberg Kappe are on winter break. But do not worry! Even if Kletterwald, Fly-Line and Bikepark will be back for you in spring 2020, you can get to know Erlebnisberg in winter from a completely different side. Across the mountain stretches the ski area Kappe for all winter sports enthusiasts and tobogganers. The Panorama Adventure Bridge is even open all year round and also the Sommerrodelbahn opens - weather permitting - on weekends in winter. With the hostel Erlebnisberg Kappe and the Panorama Café - Restaurant you also have two cozy retreats that invite you to stay and warm up.

Winterberg and the Sauerland in winter dress
As soon as the first snow falls always develops this magical moment that you can hardly put into words. A sparkle and glitter in the white powder extends over the landscape and immerses the Sauerland in a completely different appearance. The snow-covered mountains and the city in its winter dress evoke a mood all of its own. From the Panorama Erlebnis Brücke you can enjoy the view of this extraordinary winter world. Don't forget your jacket, gloves and hat, because the wind can sometimes whistle here. Nevertheless, this view is definitely worth it! From November to March, Panorama Erlebnis Brücke is open daily from 10:00 to 16:30 (the fun elements are open depending on the weather). The same times apply to Sommerrodelbahn, which opens only on weekends, weather permitting. Here you can find more information about our open attractions in winter.

Attractions during the winter break
The attractions that are not active during the cold season are winterized accordingly. That means we try to protect them from the weather as much as possible. As soon as the snow disappears, we start to bring the attractions out of hibernation. Not only do we prepare them again, but above all we check the attractions for safety - both internally and through external service providers. However, some of the rides have to be rebuilt for the winter. For example, a section of the Fly-Line will be dismantled over the cold days.

The Erlebnisberg Kappe becomes a ski resort Kappe
The end of the Fly-Line runs over a ski slope in the ski area Kappe. So that winter sports enthusiasts can make their descents and turns on the "slalom slope" here unhindered, the last meters of the installation are being dismantled so that the slope can once again be fully used for skiing. Did you actually know that this is the steepest descent on a ski slope north of the Alps? But don't worry, with the Waldabfahrt the longest slope in the ski area Kappe is right next door. As an easy run, this slope is also perfect for families. In total, there are a whole seven snow-covered slopes, the Panorama Restaurant as the perfect place for a break in between and a direct connection to the Winterberg ski lift carousel. Our tip for all spectators: From the Panorama Erlebnis Brücke you can watch the hustle and bustle in the ski area wonderfully.

Why not plan your skiing vacation in Winterberg right away?
For the ski operation, moreover, the bike station at Bikepark Winterberg becomes the ski rental Brinkmann converted. After the bikes have all left the bike station, skis and snowboards move right in. Here you can rent ski equipment quickly, easily and inexpensively for your skiing vacation in Winterberg. The suitable and inexpensive accommodation offers you the Hostel Erlebnisberg Kappe. Located directly at the ski area, even with its own ski rental directly in the accommodation, you stay comfortably in the house with youth hostel charm.

Will you be active on the ski slopes or will you rather enjoy the view of the snow-covered Sauerland mountains? Do you go tobogganing on the toboggan slope or directly into the steel tube of the "Sommerrodelbahn" next door? At Erlebnisberg Kappe there is also a lot to discover and experience in winter!
